One of our favorite new family-friendly openings in NYC last year, the LIC location of Court 16has 9 indoor tennis courts that are designed to be kid-friendly, in smaller, more age-appropriate sizes. This summer, certified instructors lead tennis-pros-in-training in tennis fundamentals, as well as craft projects and engaging lessons to build a deeper appreciation for the sport. Themed summer camp weeks include Tennis Traditions, Greatest Players, Doubles, and more, at both the Queens courts and their sister location in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Behind Court 16, a Belgian: Anthony Evrard. Son and grandson of "Bourgeois Sport", the first Belgian "pro" tennis store, created in 1968 and well known in the world of rackets in Brussels. Anthony will naturally spend a lot of his time learning to string rackets at the same time as the alphabet, like his father for professionals. He will also drag his first setbacks at the Royal Leopold Club, still in the wake of his family, one of the first "proletarians" to tread the courts of the mythical "Leo". And more precisely on the 16, his favorite, the second on the left when you enter the club.
For those who love the sport and are wanting to serve it up all year long look no further than the newly opened Court 16. The high-tech facility is a one-of-a-kind sports experience that will appeal to all ages and levels. Every detail is unique and full of wonderful touches that are greatly appreciated in the workout world. From tennis pros to kids in first time camps, there are details all will be inspired by when entering.
For Yuli and Ori, the place of choice was Court 16 Tennis in Long Island City – an awesome indoor tennis club for kids and adults, and the only tennis court in the US with LED tennis courts! super cool at night! The kids got to play tennis while the adults kicked back and watched or played too!. The party packages are awesome, and can include everything from digital invites and cake and candles. We brought some adult beverages for our friends to enjoy, and all of the kids had a blast(!) learning tennis skills and playing with one another. Yuli was excited to show off his moves, and the boys still talk about the event to this day.
